TELEGRAPHIC NOTES.

Have you ever heard of Telegraph? Once it was a means for communication. Through it, important pieces of information were conveyed with a little number of words.

Telegraph is now outdated. But the method of formation of a telegraphic message helped me very much in my post-graduate examinations in English. I think it will be helpful to those who study Literature.

First of all, read the passage carefully. Understand it fully. Then took a paper and write down the most important ideas. Then trim the sentence by avoiding articles, prepositions, conjunctions, and all other words that may make a hindrance to look it like a telegraphic message.

Then took another paper. Begin to write the passage in your own language. Whenever you get time read the telegraphic notes and the passage many times. Write the passage from your memory before you go to write the examination. You can write with your own language ease and satisfaction.

For a fun here I try to recreate some of the telegraphic messages(at that time popularly known as Telegram).

                           Example-:

Mother expired. Start Immediately.

Come home urgent.

Daughter delivered. Child daughter.

Father fell ill.

Ideas are conveyed through the least number of words here. Ironically saying, TELEGRAM is the name of a new generation social media app.
