HOW TO MAKE A QUESTION?

When we communicate through speech we have to ask questions and we have to answer the same by others. So we must study how to ask a question. We have already studied tag questions. Now we are going to study QUESTION WORD QUESTIONS. The following are some of the "question word questions" that we use commonly to frame a question-:WHAT, WHICH, WHEN, WHY, WHO, WHERE, and HOW are examples.

Examples-:

What is your name?

Which is your pen?

When did he reach home?

Why did she go there?

How can he manage it?

Who is your father?

To make any kind of question we must have a thorough knowledge of Auxiliary Verbs.

First, we have to select the apt question word.

Second, to choose the correct Auxiliary Verb.

Third, write the subject.

Fourth, write the base form of the verb.

Fifth, write object / any other thing.

Sixth,?(Question Mark)

Look at the following example.

Why did he go abroad?

Why-:Question Word.

Did-:Auxiliary Verb.

He-:Subject.

Go-base form of the verb.

Abroad-:rest of the question.

                                                            Then Question Mark.

While answering the question, the verb is to be in the simple past tense (ie went).

Answer-:He went abroad for a job.

We know how to split the word -went -into two, ie (did+go)+Auxiliary Verb+Base form of the verb.

    Look at another example-:

What does she eat?

What-:Question Word.

Does-:Auxiliary Verb.

She-:Subject.

Do-:Base Form of the Verb.

We can ask another question getting the same
